Finland Allocates Over €20 Million to Support Ukrainian Education
Finland has announced the allocation of €20.5 million to support the Ukrainian education system. This was announced by the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, Ville Tavio, during the European Regional School Feeding Forum in Kyiv.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, €20 million will be allocated to support educational reform in Ukraine as part of a project that will run from 2025 to 2028.
The cooperation project was developed jointly with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, and the Finnish National Agency for Education.
‘The Government of Finland has been one of the key partners in education reform since 2018. We have many joint programmes aimed at strengthening the social protection of students and providing them with psychosocial support. I am grateful to our partners for their contribution to the support and reform of education,’ said Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi.
In addition, Finland will provide €500,000 to support the World Food Programme's (WFP) school feeding programme in Ukraine.
‘Finland continues to provide strong and comprehensive support to Ukraine, which allows us to meet both the immediate and long-term needs of the country. The recovery of Ukraine is a large-scale process, and Finnish companies have a significant potential to participate in the recovery through various financial instruments,’ said Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Ville Tavio.
