26 Nations Ready to Back Security Mission in Ukraine as Coalition Summit Concludes

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday that 26 countries are prepared either to deploy contingents to Ukraine or to provide other forms of support as part of a multinational effort to guarantee the country’s security.
The Gaze reports this, referring to European Pravda.
Speaking alongside President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after the “Coalition of the Willing” summit in Paris, Macron said leaders from 35 nations have endorsed a comprehensive package of political, military, and security proposals aimed at ensuring Ukraine’s long-term defense.
“We have come a long way, our chiefs of staff have worked closely together, and today we are ready. On the table is a political proposal, a military proposal, and a joint initiative from 35 leaders to deliver security guarantees for Ukraine,” Macron told reporters.
According to the French President, the plan rests on two pillars. The first ensures that Ukraine faces no restrictions on the size or capabilities of its armed forces, enabling Kyiv to rebuild a military strong enough to deter future aggression.
The second involves establishing “guarantee forces,” with 26 nations formally committing, and others signaling interest, to send troops or contribute resources to safeguard Ukraine by land, sea, or air.
Macron stressed that the mission’s purpose is not to engage in combat against Russia but to uphold peace and signal to Moscow that renewed hostilities will not be tolerated. “We are now defining where these forces will be positioned,” he added.
For his part, Zelenskyy said the coalition had agreed on the need to boost support for Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia, which he accused of trying to prolong the war by dragging out talks.
“We coordinated our positions and discussed in detail each country’s readiness to contribute to security on land, at sea, in the air, and in cyberspace,” Zelenskyy said. “The main security guarantee remains a strong Ukrainian army.”
More than 30 nations took part in the Paris summit, with six EU leaders, the European Union’s top officials, and Zelenskyy attending in person, while others joined remotely.
As The Gaze reported earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the “unbreakable pledge” to support Ukraine by the Coalition of the Willing and stressed the need to put pressure on Putin to end the war.
