Finnish President: Ukraine Can Use Weapons Provided by Finland on Russian Territory
During a visit to the Åland Islands on Tuesday, Finnish President Alexander Stubb commented on the advance of Ukrainian troops into Russia's Kursk region.
According to Stubb, Ukraine has every right to defend itself by advancing into the Kursk region, as Russia regularly bombards the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and has occupied large parts of Ukraine.
‘We see no reason to restrict the activities of Ukrainians,’ the Finnish president said.
Stubb also said that Ukraine could use weapons supplied by Finland in Russia.
‘We have no restrictions on what kind of weapons and how Ukraine can use them. The basic premise is that Ukraine has every right to defend itself within the framework of international law,’ he said.
President Stubb made his first visit to Åland as President with a two-day visit on Tuesday and Wednesday. The visit was also attended by the President's wife, Susanne Innes Stubb.
