Five Dead in Odesa After Russian Drones Attack, Including a 3-Year-Old Child, Dozens Injured

Russia continues to wage war against the civilian population of Ukraine. Overnight, Russia again launched another night attack using Shahid drones on the Ukrainian cities of Kharkiv, Odesa and towns in Sumy region. One of the drones hit a residential building in Odesa, destroying 18 flats.
As of 12:00 five people were killed, including a 3-year-old child, dozens of people were injured, six people are missing, and 144 consumers are without electricity.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to allies and partners for military support to "effectively protect people from Russian terror".
"We need more air defence capabilities from our partners. Ukraine's air shield must be strengthened to effectively protect our people from Russian terror. More air defence systems and anti-aircraft missiles are what saves lives," the President of Ukraine said.
"A 3-year-old child. Killed by "non-humans" in Odesa. It is impossible to forget! It is impossible to forgive! "The 'non-country' must answer for every crime it committed against Ukraine!" - reads the post of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa Oblast.
"What is happening now is not just a policy of constant terror of the civilian population. This is a policy of genocide against the entire Ukrainian people. A policy that is directed by the highest leadership of the Russian Federation," Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin said on the air of the United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.
Rescuers reported that so far 5 people have died in Odesa, including 1 child. 8 people were injured, including 1 child. Five people have been rescued.
"As a result of the damage to the boiler room next door, 12 flats buildings and a kindergarten are without heat supply. We have additionally deployed heating and psychological assistance centres. 128 people received help from SES psychologists. Employees of the Red Cross NGO have organised meals," the SES report says.
A headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the shelling has also been set up under the leadership of the mayor. A mobile operational group of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine is working at the scene.
The search and clearance of the rubble is ongoing.
