France to Deliver Mirage 2000 Fighter Jets to Ukraine Early Next Year
French Defence Minister Sébastien Lecornu has said that his country will provide Ukraine with Mirage 2000 fighter jets in the first quarter of 2025.
Lecornu said this on the X network.
‘Mirage 2000 for Ukraine: delivery is scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2025,’ the minister wrote.
According to him, the aircraft will receive new equipment at the Cazaux airbase: air defence and electronic warfare systems.
Lecornu added that the relevant training of Ukrainian pilots and mechanics is currently underway.
As The Gaze previously reported, the French Armed Forces announced on 20 September that the first group of Ukrainian pilots who trained on Alphajet aircraft had completed their training.
Back in June, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the transfer of several French Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to Ukraine and the training of 4,500 Ukrainian servicemen as part of a ‘new cooperation’ with Kyiv.
Macron also said that Ukrainian pilots and mechanics for Mirage 2000-5 fighters would be trained on French territory.
