Frankfurt Book Fair 2025 Will Spotlight Ukraine’s National Stand

From October 15 to 19, Ukraine will present its cultural and literary program at the 77th Frankfurt Book Fair, showcasing contemporary book publishing, meetings with authors, and international cooperation.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian national stand, organized by the Ukrainian Book Institute with the support of a number of state and cultural institutions, will be a platform for presenting contemporary Ukrainian book publishing, meetings with writers, and international publishers.
This year's focus theme for Ukraine is the concept of Filling in, which aims to fill the gaps on the European cultural map by presenting Ukrainian classical and contemporary literature. The national stand will feature over 300 books from 38 Ukrainian publishers, as well as a special stand dedicated to Creative Women Publishing.
The program includes about 30 discussions and presentations of translations of Ukrainian books into English and German.
Participants in the Ukrainian program include well-known writers and translators, such as Yuri Andrukhovych, Tanya Malyarchuk, Andriy Lyubka, Oleksandr Irvanets, Mariam Nayeem, and others. A separate part of the program will be a special initiative for publishers from Ukraine and neighboring countries, aimed at training and professional communication. The design of the national stand is based on the ornaments of Vasyl Krychevskyy.
Tetyana Filevska, creative director of the Ukrainian Institute, noted that the institute has been organizing Ukraine's participation in the Frankfurt Book Fair for several years.
"We will present recommended lists of Ukrainian classics, which were compiled at our request by authoritative literary scholars... We want Ukrainian literature to be translated and read more often abroad, which is why we join the organization of the Ukrainian program at the Frankfurt Book Fair every year," she said.
Ukraine's participation in Frankfurt is aimed at strengthening the international visibility of Ukrainian literature, developing partnerships, and promoting Ukrainian cultural content abroad.
The event also demonstrates the resilience of Ukrainian culture despite the challenges of war and the growing domestic and international demand for Ukrainian books.
