French President Macron Convenes Urgent Summit of European Leaders on Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron is convening an urgent summit of European leaders on Monday to discuss the situation in Ukraine and European security issues. This was announced by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, Le Figaro reports.
According to Barrot, the French president will gather ‘major European countries’ in Paris to discuss ‘European security’, but he did not specify which countries would participate in the meeting.
Reuters, citing five European diplomats, reports that the summit will be attended by France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, and Denmark, which will represent the interests of the Baltic and Scandinavian countries.
Barro made the announcement the day after US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that Europe would not be involved in negotiations to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.
According to Politico, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski also spoke about the summit in France. He expressed hope that European leaders would discuss ‘very seriously’ the challenges posed by US President Donald Trump.
