Frontline Police in Southern Ukraine's Mykolaiv Strengthened with Danish Equipment

The National Police in Ukraine's Mykolaiv region has received essential equipment from Denmark, valued at over ₴6 Million, to ensure uninterrupted operations during power outages and emergency situations.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the post of the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine.
Thus assistance was provided in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). “Police work doesn’t stop when the lights go out. Thanks to joint efforts with UNDP, Mykolaiv's police force is now better equipped to serve and protect their communities during blackouts and other emergencies,” the statement read.
The support package includes the establishment of a modern situation center to coordinate police actions 24/7, 165 portable power banks for field operations, as well as new furniture, IT equipment, and backup power systems for eight police stations in frontline areas. These stations are located in the settlements of Polygon, Pervomaiske, Shyroke, Snihurivka, Vasylivka, Novovasylivka, Barativka, and Halytsynove.
“A capable, well-equipped, and community-focused police force is crucial for maintaining stability in frontline regions. We support initiatives that help law enforcement not only fulfill their duties but also enhance public safety and protection,” said Jakob Torild Hansen, Head of the Danish Embassy Office in Mykolaiv.
The new equipment will enhance the mobility, communication, and emergency response capacity of police units, ensuring they can continue to provide assistance to civilians even in blackout conditions and under constant threat of shelling.
This donation is part of Denmark’s broader support to Ukraine's southern regions. Previously, Mykolaiv communities received 15 new school buses through a Danish-UNOPS initiative, and police officers were also provided with 10 vehicles by Lower Saxony.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the Danish government will allocate 317 Danish kroner (42 million euros) to Ukraine as part of the 25th aid package to purchase artillery shells of various calibres.
