German Defence Minister Pistorius: If We Stop Supporting Ukraine, This War May Become Ours

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has called for continued support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, Zeit reports.
Pistorius emphasized that Ukraine should act from a position of strength to be able to negotiate in the future.
“If we stop supporting Ukraine tomorrow, then the day after tomorrow will be the end of Ukraine, the end of a sovereign, free state in the center of Europe,” the minister said.
He also commented on the statements that the refusal to support Ukraine is justified by the fact that it is “not Germany's war.”
“Indeed, it is not our war, but it can become ours. Anyone who listens to Russian President Vladimir Putin can only come to one conclusion: “Putin is preparing,” Pistorius warned.
The minister emphasized that Russia is creating the conditions to pose a serious threat, in particular by moving to a military economy, increasing the production of tanks and the size of the army.
Earlier, Pistorius noted that he did not rule out the possibility of a Russian attack on NATO countries in 2029-2030.
At the same time, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar said that if US President Donald Trump stops supporting Ukraine, the European Union should not take on the entire burden of helping the country.
