Germany Provides Ukraine with €1.3 Billion in Additional Military Aid

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has announced the provision of a new military aid package to Ukraine amounting to €1.3 billion. The announcement was made in Kyiv during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov.
This information is reported by the Tagesschau.
The new military aid package will include four IRIS-T SLM anti-aircraft defense systems, 20,000 rounds of 155mm caliber ammunition, and anti-tank mines.
According to the German Defense Minister, the allocation of the new package signals that Germany remains a reliable partner for Ukraine.
This marks the third transfer of powerful IRIS-T systems to Ukraine. The first three systems from the initial batch have already been delivered. It is expected that the fourth delivery will be announced this winter, and the fifth will be available in 2025.
IRIS-T systems play a crucial role in Ukraine's anti-aircraft defense against Russian missiles. Western air defense systems help strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure objects from Russian attacks, including residential buildings and energy facilities expected to be targeted by Russia this winter.
It is worth noting that today, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv for an undisclosed visit.
The German official met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
Earlier this month, Germany announced new military shipments to Ukraine, including tanks, ammunition, all-terrain vehicles, radars, and drones.
Previously, the German government made changes to the 2024 budget, allocating an additional four billion euros for military aid to Ukraine. The funds will be directed towards supplying additional anti-aircraft defense systems, protective equipment, vehicle repairs, technical maintenance, and logistics.
Yesterday, the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, also arrived in Kyiv, confirming that the United States will continue to support Ukraine in its defense against unprovoked aggression from Russia. Lloyd Austin announced a new military aid package from the United States for Ukraine, including additional ammunition and anti-tank weapons.
