Germany has announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine, including tanks, ammunition, drones, and other military equipment necessary for Kyiv to combat Russian aggression.
This information comes from the German government's announcement.
The new arsenal package includes 10 Leopard 1A5 tanks, 14 tracked all-terrain vehicles Bandvagn 206, 5 medical all-terrain vehicles (Carrier Warthog), 1,020 rounds 155mm ammunition, 1 mine clearing tank Wisent 1, 10 reconnaissance UAVs Vector, 10,000 safety glasses, 14 GO12 ground surveillance radars, 3 patrol cars, 4 truck tractor trains 8x8 HX81, and 4 semi-trailers, 16 Zetros trucks, 13 MAN TGS trucks, and 1.4 million rounds of ammunition.
It was also recently revealed that the German government has made amendments to the budget for 2024, allocating an additional four billion euros for military assistance to Ukraine.
It is expected that the funds will be allocated for air defense systems, protective equipment, equipment repair, maintenance, and logistics.
Additionally, during the "Success Formula for Ukraine" event, German diplomat Martin Eger announced the transfer of two additional IRIS-T air defense systems, which are expected to arrive in Ukraine by the end of the year.
"We are very pleased to contribute to this effort; looking ahead to the winter, we will provide additional air defense systems, including Patriot and IRIS-T, with plans for a total of five fully equipped standalone systems featuring radar, command points, and more," emphasized Eger.
It is worth noting that last month, The Gaze reported that Germany provided a new package of military aid, including anti-aircraft equipment, ammunition, 155mm shells, and the third medium-range anti-aircraft missile system IRIS-T-SLM.
This September, it was revealed that the German company Diehl Defence plans to significantly increase the production of IRIS-T air defense systems and missiles. It is planned that in 2024, the company will produce three to four such systems, and in 2025, at least eight. At the same time, the company plans to produce approximately 400-500 missiles for the system per year.
