"Have You Been There?" - Fico's Ruling Party in Slovakia Fails to Condemn Russia's Missile Attack on Children Hospital in Ukraine
The Slovak parliament failed to pass a resolution condemning the Russian attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv. There were no votes.
This was reported by Aktuality.
The resolution was initiated by Beata Jurik, a member of the opposition Progressive Slovakia party, who proposed adding it to the agenda.
Only 41 members of the Slovak parliament voted in favour of the resolution, so the deputies did not proceed to its consideration.
In response, Jana Valova of Prime Minister Robert Fico's SMER-SD party shouted: "Were you there?"
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, condemned the attack and offered to accept Okhmatdyt patients for treatment.
The Czech Republic has also expressed its readiness to accept children from the Okhmatdyt destroyed by Russia for treatment.
Lithuania has already transferred 1 million euros to rebuild the hospital after the Russian attack.
As reported by The Gaze, on 8 July, the Russian army launched several waves of massive missile attacks on Ukraine, killing dozens and injuring hundreds of people.
The Okhmatdyt children's hospital was among the facilities that were hit.
