Five Killed, Twenty Injured in Another Russian Terrorist Missile Strike on Ukraine
On 4 February, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the centre of the town of Izium in Kharkiv region, eastern Ukraine. The attack killed five people and injured 20 others, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media.
‘Izyum. The rescue operation continues after a Russian missile attack on the city. Part of the city council building was destroyed as a result of this strike. As of now, it is known that there are victims - 20 people were injured. Unfortunately, five people were killed. My condolences to the families and friends,’ the Ukrainian leader wrote.
He noted that ‘it is impossible to reconcile with this cruelty’ and ‘we need to put pressure on Russia, use as much force as possible - the force of arms, the force of sanctions, the force of diplomacy - to stop the terror and protect lives.’
According to the head of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Syniehubov, preliminary data suggests that Russians hit the central part of the city with a ballistic missile. Not only the city council was destroyed, but also an administrative building nearby, as well as multi-storey residential buildings.
