Ukraine's Ukroboronprom company and the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the defence industries of both countries. This was reported by the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
The document defines the main framework agreements, in particular on the production of ammunition, maintenance of armoured vehicles and artillery, and strengthening of the air defence system.
It also provides for the development of financial mechanisms to attract instruments and funding provided by the European Defence Strategy (EDIS) and the European Defence Industrial Programme (EDIP).
The Ministry of Strategic Industries reported that the memorandum was signed on 3 February by representatives of Ukroboronprom and PGZ in the presence of Ukraine's Minister of Defence Herman Smetanin and State Secretary of the Polish Ministry of Defence Cezary Tomczyk.
In addition, bilateral talks were held with the participation of government officials from both countries, representatives of the Polish Embassy and defence companies. The participants discussed the progress of joint projects and identified promising areas of cooperation, including the localisation of Polish defence production in Ukraine, the establishment of joint ventures and the manufacture of explosives.
