Healey Urges Stronger Military Backing for Ukraine

On Monday, Defense Secretary John Healey will chair a meeting of Kyiv's allies and call on the Western countries to step up military support for Ukraine as part of a new “50-day drive” campaign.
The Gaze reports on it referring to The Telegraph.
Healey is expected to insist on increasing military support for Ukraine again to force the Russian president into negotiations to end the war.
The US President Donald Trump has previously threatened to impose severe sanctions on Russia if it does not agree to a ceasefire within 50 days.
The Secretary of State for Defence of the UK will use a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG) to support Trump’s proposal and affirm the UK’s commitment to fully contributing to its success in strengthening Ukraine’s current defence efforts.
“As members of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, we need to step up in turn with a ‘50-day drive’ to arm Ukraine on the battlefield and force Putin to the negotiating table,” Healey is anticipated to say.
It is reported that the UK has recently delivered £150 million worth of air defence missiles and artillery rounds to Ukraine.
Further commitments are expected at Monday’s UDCG, including a joint UK-Germany agreement to purchase additional air defence missiles with €170 million in funding from Berlin.
The Gaze previously reported on the first UK leadership of the Ukrainian Defence Contact Group (UDCG) in the Ramstein format.
