Highly Anticipated World Premiere of 'Dune: Part Two' Takes Place in London
The long-awaited world premiere of Dune: Part Two, the sequel to the 2021 box office hit Dune directed by Denis Villeneuve, The Telegraph reports.
The film was originally scheduled to premiere on 3 November 2023, but faced delays due to strikes in Hollywood, which later ended.
Now, film journalists are showering the long-awaited sequel with praise for its incredible cast, breathtaking visuals, and more.
Zendaya stunned the audience in a vintage Mugler cyborg costume at the London premiere of Dune 2. The futuristic robotic garment comes from Thierry Mugler's Autumn/Winter 1995 couture collection and consists of a metallic coating with cutouts in the chest, waist and hips. The bodysuit, which was aptly named "Machinenmensch" or "Machine Man", took six months to create. The design is said to be inspired by the fictional character Futura from the dystopian novel Metropolis by Thea von Harbou.

In general, the film, which follows 2021's Dune, is being called "masterful", "damn impressive" and full of battle scenes that rival The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" by Peter Jackson.
"Dune: Part Two is incredibly impressive," wrote Gregory Ellwood of The Playlist. "Villeneuve has created some truly PROGRAMMABLE moments. Austin Butler gives a truly transformative performance (and not to mention the make-up). A very moving ending. Is it a bit long? Yes, it is. Did I forget I saw it the next day? Yes. It's still going to be massive."
"A brilliant result. The whole cast was great. My only complaint was that I wish it was longer. It's not a joke. The film is 2 hours and 40 minutes (?) long, and I would have loved to see another hour," writes Steven Weintraub of Collider.
Inverse editor Hoai-Tran Bui called the film a "triumph", adding: "Even bigger than the first, but much more intimate, Denis Villeneuve manages to turn the more alienating second half of the book into a gripping, action-packed epic. The combat skill is on par with TWO TOWERS. Zendaya is the star."
Mike Ryan of Uproxx wrote that "Part Two" is "phenomenal" and "up there with the best science fiction films I've ever seen".
