House of Europe Announces Grant Competition for Digitising Ukraine's Cultural Heritage
The House of Europe has announced a grant competition for museums, archives and NGOs seeking to preserve and digitise Ukraine's cultural heritage. This project provides an opportunity to receive from €10,000 to €20,000, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine has announced.
‘Russia is destroying Ukrainian culture. If you want to oppose creation to destruction, these grants are for you. You will have six months and up to €20,000 to digitise part of the museum collection. Buy a modern 3D scanner, set up a powerful server room, pay for cloud storage for years to come, or consult with digitisation pros from abroad - we will support you,’ the project's official announcement says.
The grant covers, among other things, the purchase or rental of equipment: scanners, cameras, server computers, etc. It also includes the purchase of software: cloud storage, 3D modelling software, etc. It also funds consultations with external experts and fees for team members: managers, assistants, accountants.
House of Europe is a programme funded by the European Union to support professional and creative exchange between Ukrainians and their counterparts in the EU and the UK. The programme focuses on culture and the creative sector, education and youth work, social entrepreneurship, and media. The project also pays special attention to supporting national communities in Ukraine.
Earlier, the Czech Republic and Ukraine launched a joint project ARK III to digitise cultural heritage sites.
