Ukrainian Films to Be Screened at Leeds International Film Festival in UK
Ukrainian films will be screened at the Leeds International Film Festival, which will take place from 1 to 17 November in the United Kingdom. This was reported by the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
‘In the first half of November, Leeds will host one of the largest film festivals in the UK - the Leeds International Film Festival (LIFF). The event traditionally presents a wide range of short and animated films from around the world,’ the statement reads.
This year, the festival will feature Ukrainian films, including those created with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency: ‘U Are the Universe’ by Pavlo Ostrikov - Fanomenon competition programme; 'The Editorial Office' by Roman Bondarchuk - Constellation competition programme.
The LIFF Shorts competition programme also includes six short films, such as Smoke from the Fire (Ukraine, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary) by Daryna Mamaysur; Waking Up in Silence (Ukraine, Germany) by Mila Zhluktenko and Daniel Asadi Faezi; ‘No One Thinks of Tomorrow in Paris (Ukraine, France) by Andriy Kokur; Guests from Kharkiv (Ukraine) by Galyna Lavrinets; How It Was (Ukraine, Poland) by Damian Kotsur and Anastasia Solonevych; Aloe, Ficus, Avocado and Six Dracaena (Ukraine, France) by Marta Smereczynska.
As The Gaze previously reported, a Ukrainian film festival will take place in Warsaw from 21 to 27 October, where about 60 films will be screened.
