How French Fishman help Ukraine Сounter Russian drones with Anti-Drone Nets
During his working visit to France, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of the Kernic Solidarités association and the National Committee for Fishery and Aquaculture at the Embassy of Ukraine in Paris.
The Gaze reports, citing the Ukrainian President’s Office.
These volunteer groups have been providing Ukrainian cities with anti-drone nets that help protect civilians and critical infrastructure from Russian attacks.
President Zelenskyy thanked the donors for their initiative, calling them “people with big hearts.” He noted that during his recent visits to Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and eastern Ukraine, he saw firsthand how the nets supplied by the French volunteers were saving lives on the ground.
According to the President, the association and the committee have already delivered over 200 kilometers of protective nets, enabling safer movement along key roads and creating more secure logistical routes.
“You may not even imagine how many lives have been saved thanks to your help,” Zelenskyy said. “It is equally important for me to thank both the engineers who build our air defense and the ordinary people — with extraordinary compassion — who support us so strongly.”
The French volunteers commended the courage and resilience of Ukrainians defending their country against Russian aggression. They emphasized that they have already traveled to Ukraine four times and will continue supporting Ukrainian communities for as long as needed. Work is now underway to secure additional funding for further aid.
As a token of appreciation, President Zelenskyy presented the fishermen with commemorative watches. In return, they gifted him a traditional fishing vest emblazoned with the phrase “Tout commence au Finistère” (“Everything begins in Finistère”).
