- The ticket is valid only in July and August 2023. It is worth mentioning that in May,
Earlier Czech Railways opened new routes from Prague to Ukraine, including destinations such as Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia. The ticket price starts from €20 from Prague to Lviv, €38 to Kyiv, €69.2 to Kharkiv, and €70.9 to Zaporizhzhia.
The Gaze previously published a ranking of European countries with the cheapest and most accessible public transportatioт according to Greenpeace. The analysis was conducted after Germany and Hungary introduced new affordable national travel cards.
Starting from May 1, Hungary introduced new season tickets for unlimited use of intercity transportation. There are two types of season tickets to choose from: a national ticket (országbérletet) valid throughout the country and a regional ticket (vármegyebérletet) valid within one of the 19 administrative regions of the country. The national ticket allows users to travel on all Hungarian bus and railway lines served by MÁV-Start, MÁV-HÉV, GYSEV, and the national bus company Volánbusz. However, the ticket does not cover public transportation within cities (for example, Budapest).
In Germany, the sale of a universal ticket for all types of public transportation across the country has also started. The ticket, called Deutschlandticket or D-Ticket, allows travel on all forms of public transportation for only €49 per month. The Deutschland ticket is personalized and valid only for the person who purchased it. A valid identification document with a photograph is required for verification purposes.
