Israel to Deliver Water Systems to Ukraine’s Frontline Regions

Israel has announced a new humanitarian aid package for Ukraine focused on providing clean water to civilians in war-torn regions facing severe infrastructure collapse due to ongoing Russian attacks.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to an announcement made by the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
According to the statement, the aid will include high-capacity water purification and distribution systems designed to serve tens of thousands of people.
Israeli FM Gideon Sa’ar informed the Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel, Yevgen Korniychuk about the humanitarian aid on July 3.
The project will be implemented through MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, and is fully funded by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The initiative is part of Israel’s long-term commitment to stand with Ukraine during its time of need.
“The drinking systems will be installed in Ukraine’s eastern provinces, an area where infrastructure was damaged by Russian bombings and the population suffers from water shortages,” the statement reads.
The initiative builds on more than two years of continuous Israeli humanitarian assistance to Ukraine since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky emphasized the broader scope of aid provided to date, including emergency food and medical deliveries, hundreds of electricity generators, and the deployment of a field hospital during the early stages of the war.
The latest aid announcement comes as water access has become a growing crisis in eastern Ukraine, exacerbated by targeted attacks on civilian infrastructure. According to Ukrainian officials, entire communities are now dependent on external assistance to meet their most basic needs.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on June 6, the EU has announced that it will allocate €30 million to support the restoration of the water supply system in Kryvyi Rih, which was damaged after Russia destroyed the Kakhovka Dam in 2023.
