Japan’s Nojima Corporation Commits ¥200 Million for Ukrainian Child Support

The Japanese company Nojima Corporation will provide 200 million yen for the projects of the Olena Zelenska Foundation to support Ukrainian children, The Gaze reports, citing the First Lady of Ukraine on Facebook.
As part of her visit to Japan with the Olena Zelenska Foundation team, the First Lady met with Hiroshi Nojima, President of Nojima Corporation, one of Japan's largest electronics and digital retailers.
During this meeting, the company announced its decision to provide 200 million yen to support the Foundation's projects.
Zelenska emphasized the importance of such assistance and recalled that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Nojima personally provided financial assistance to Ukrainians who were forced to evacuate to Japan.
Nojima Corporation continues to support Ukrainians. Earlier, the company, together with JICA and the Yokohama Municipality, donated laptops to Odesa schools, helping hundreds of students return to school during the war.
During the meeting, representatives of the company were presented with a new project of the Olena Zelenska Foundation - youth spaces for psychosocial support of adolescents and young people “12-21”. They will allow teenagers and young people to receive psychosocial support, career counseling, and leisure opportunities free of charge. The first five such barrier-free and accessible locations are planned to open this year in different regions of Ukraine.
The First Lady reiterated her gratitude to Nojima Corporation for its significant social support. "It is especially important for us to see how the Ukrainian-Japanese partnership is developing not only at the state level, but also through such initiatives between people and business. This partnership is another step towards ensuring that children in Ukraine have real conditions for development and a decent future," she wrote.
As The Gaze previously informed, Ukraine and Japan signed 29 agreements to boost Ukraine’s economic recovery at the Ukraine-Japan Economic Reconstruction Forum in Tokyo.
