Jerusalem Unveils Monument Honouring Victims of the Holodomor
A ceremony took place in the Holy City.
The Gaze reports on it according to FB of Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Azman
A solemn ceremony took place in the heart of Jerusalem, where a new monument dedicated to the victims of the Holodomor — the artificial famine of 1932–1933 orchestrated by the Soviet regime — was officially unveiled. The memorial stands in the very centre of the Holy City, symbolising both remembrance and the unbreakable bond between the Ukrainian and Jewish peoples.
The event gathered high-ranking officials, diplomats, political leaders, and public figures from both Ukraine and Israel. Among the distinguished guests were Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra, and Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk.
Members of the Israeli Knesset also attended, underlining Israel’s recognition of the Holodomor as a profound human tragedy and a crime committed against the Ukrainian nation.
Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Azman thanked the people of Israel for their solidarity and understanding of the pain of Ukrainians. And then we prayed for the souls of Ukrainians innocently killed by artificial famine, and for just peace!
