Polish Armed Forces Day, celebrated on August 15th, commemorates the victory of the Polish armed forces over the Red Army in 1920, famously known as the "Miracle on the Vistula." During this historic event, the Polish army defended Central and Eastern European countries, as well as Western Europe, from Soviet occupation, including Western Ukraine. This act saved people from the famine caused by Soviet occupiers in Eastern Ukraine, where over two million people lost their lives.
