Latvian Citizens Raise €120,000 to Support Ukrainian Intelligence with Military Equipment

The Latvians provided the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (HUR) with drones, night vision devices, and Hummer off-road vehicles purchased with donated funds.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Ukrinform.
The donation included FPV drones, Mavics, night vision devices, and a Hummer vehicle, with a total value of €120,000. Latvian National Guard Major Janis Slaydinsh handed over the equipment to Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
According to Slaydinsh, fundraising to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine lasted two months.
“With this money, we bought FPV drones, Mavics, and night vision devices. One donor also donated a Hummer vehicle to the Main Intelligence Directorate,” he stated.
This is the seventh fundraiser by Latvians in support of Ukraine, during which equipment is purchased for the HUR and territorial defense units.
Vadym Skibitskyi emphasized the importance of Ukraine's military cooperation with the Baltic countries, which began in 2008. He stressed that after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Baltic countries are allocating a significant part of their defense budget to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Skibitskyi also noted the significance and consistency of the equipment received by combat units. “What you see here is only part of it. We also receive other necessary gifts that are needed by our special forces,” he said.
As The Gaze previously reported, Ukrainian drones belonging to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (HUR) struck an oil refinery in Ukhta, more than 2,000 km (1,243 miles) from the Ukrainian border, hitting the Lukoil-Ukhta Oil Refinery.
