Legendary Catherine Deneuve Dedicates 50th César Award to Ukraine

The 50th ceremony of the most prestigious award in French cinema, the César Prize, has been dedicated to Ukraine, French film legend and host of the evening Catherine Deneuve has announced, Canal+ reports.
‘I declare the 50th César Awards ceremony open and dedicate it to Ukraine,’ 81-year-old Deneuve said with a yellow and blue flag pinned to her lapel from the stage of the Olympia in Paris.
The winners were announced at the event in Paris. Jacques Audiard's film Emilia Perez was recognised as the best film, according to The Variety.
The film received a total of seven awards out of 12 nominations - for best film, directing, adapted screenplay, sound, original music, visual effects and cinematography.

- Best Actress: Hafsia Herzi, Borgo
- Best Actor: Karim Leklou, Jim's Story
- Best Supporting Actress: Nina Meurisse, Souleymane's Story
- Best Supporting Actor: Alain Chabat, Beating Hearts
- Most Promising Actress: Maïwène Barthelemy, Holy Cow
- Most Promising Actor: Abou Sangare, Souleymane's Story
- Best Original Screenplay: Boris Lojkine and Delphine Agut , Souleymane's Story
- Best adaptation: Jacques Audiard, Emilia Perez
- Best Animated Film: Gint Zilbalodis, Flow
- Best Foreign Film: Jonathan Glazer, The Zone Of Interest
As The Gaze reported, the 97th Academy Awards will take place on 2 March in Los Angeles, USA. Among the nominees for Best Picture is Jacques Audiard's Emilia Perez.
