Lithuania Has a New Prime Minister, Who Will Soon Appoint a New Government
On 21 November, the Lithuanian Seimas voted to appoint Gintautas Paluckas as the country's new prime minister, LRT reports.
Paluckas was voted in favour by 88 members of the Seimas, 34 voted against and 6 abstained.
Now he must present the Cabinet of Ministers formed and approved by the president to the parliament, as well as submit a government programme of action no later than 15 days after his appointment.
‘I believe that during our discussions, there were still echoes of some pre-election battles. I hope that they will soon subside and we will move on to the business agenda,’ he said.
