Madonna Supports Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and Calls To Protect of Ukrainian Children from Russia
The legendary American pop diva Madonna supported the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and called for the fight for peace and protection of Ukrainian children.
Madonna wrote about this on her Instagram.
The singer reminded that on 15 June, world leaders will gather in Switzerland for the Global Peace Summit, dedicated to ending the war in Ukraine and returning more than 19,000 Ukrainian children who were torn from their families and deported to Russia.
"Wherever there is conflict, children suffer...... Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Yemen, Syria, Nigeria, Congo, Malawi....... The list goes on and on. We may disagree on many issues, but I pray that we all agree that our children need to be protected!" the singer said in her post.
She said she stands for peace for all children around the world.
"All over the world. And I will never stop! I hope you'll join me," Madonna wrote.
In her video calling for people to join the Peace Summit, Madonna used footage of the aftermath of Russian strikes on Ukraine, as well as footage of children who were forced to flee their homes or lost power due to Russian massive missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure.
In her post, Madonna also used emojis in the form of yellow and blue hearts.
As reported, the Global Peace Summit will be held on 15-16 June in the Swiss town of Burgenstock. It is expected to be attended by heads of state and government from all continents.
Earlier, Swiss President Viola Amgerd said that at least 90 countries would take part in the Summit, half of which represent the so-called Global South - South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
