On the night of 29 December, the Russian occupation army fired about 110 missiles at many cities in Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media.

"A maternity hospital, educational institutions, a shopping centre, high-rise buildings and private houses, a commercial warehouse, a car park. Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and our other cities. Today, Russia hit with almost everything in its arsenal: "'Kinzhals', S-300, cruise missiles, UAVs. Strategic bombers launched X-101/X-505. Approximately 110 missiles were launched, most of them were shot down," the Ukrainian president wrote.

"Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded as a result of the shelling. All services are working in an enhanced mode and providing the necessary assistance to people. My condolences to the families and friends of the victims, a speedy recovery to the injured," he added.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that "we will definitely respond to the terrorists' attacks".

"Russian terrorists continue massive shelling of Ukrainian cities," the Latvian president also said.

According to him, the only way to stop the war and attacks on civilian targets is to provide Ukraine with all the necessary military and financial assistance.

Earlier, US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink made a similar statement.

"This is what Ukrainians saw on their phones this morning: millions of men, women and children in bomb shelters as Russia fires missiles across the country," she wrote.

Brink stressed the need to continue funding Ukraine as it fights Russian aggression.

"Ukraine needs funding now to continue the fight for freedom from this horror in 2024," the US ambassador added.

The British ambassador also condemned Russia's massive missile attack on Ukraine and said that Russia's attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure constitute a war crime.

On the night of 29 December, the aggressor country Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia and other cities were hit. There are dead and wounded.

According to the Air Force, the Russian occupation army used almost all types of weapons at its disposal.
