NATO Calls Emergency Security Council Meeting at Ukraine's Request Due to Russia's Mass Rocket Strikes
An emergency Ukraine-NATO Council meeting will be held at the request of the Ukrainian side in response to Russia's mass rocket and drone attacks. Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, made the announcement on social media.
"NATO has supported Ukraine's request for an emergency Ukraine-NATO Council meeting in response to Russia's mass rocket and drone strikes. Strengthening Ukraine's air defence will be a key focus. This marks a crucial signal of Euro-Atlantic unity amid the escalation of Russian terror," the minister stated.
In an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, Dmytro Kuleba emphasized that Putin would dare to aggress against NATO countries if he sees potential success in Ukraine.
"Those who believe in their foreign policy calculations that Putin won't dare to attack a NATO country if he sees potential success in Ukraine are making a huge mistake and need to reconsider," Kuleba remarked.
He further stressed that Ukraine is confident in future Western support and has no alternatives if such backing ceases.
"We have no 'Plan B'; we are confident in 'Plan A.' Ukraine will always fight with the resources it has. As the NATO Secretary-General accurately stated, what is given to Ukraine is not charity; it's an investment in NATO's defence as well as in protecting the prosperity of the American people," Kuleba said.
He emphasized that if Ukraine doesn't receive military assistance now, the cost will be much higher in the future.
"Regardless of today's cost, if Ukraine doesn't receive assistance, the price will be much higher. That's why we believe in 'Plan A,' we're working on 'Plan A,' and we will execute it," Ukraine's top diplomat declared.
The minister underscored that Ukraine will always fight with the available resources. Assistance from Western nations isn't charity for Ukrainians but an investment in NATO's defence.
