Northern Europe and the Baltics to Train and Equip Ukrainian Military Brigade

The Nordic and Baltic countries will provide training and equipment for a Ukrainian unit in 2025 as part of their military support for Ukraine, as announced by the governments of Denmark and Estonia.
Within a year, these countries will provide the necessary training and equipment for a Ukrainian brigade-sized unit.
‘Denmark is allocating an additional DKK 2 billion to Ukraine. The money will be spent, among other things, on ammunition for Ukrainian soldiers and the development of a brigade-sized Ukrainian force together with the Nordic and Baltic countries,’ said Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
While in Kyiv, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Mihal noted that the project envisages training the Ukrainian military and providing them with all the necessary equipment and ammunition. Specific details will be agreed upon in the near future.
According to him, it is now necessary to act ‘more and faster’.
‘Estonia is keeping its word and will increase military assistance to Ukraine by another quarter this year, purchasing an additional 10,000 shells worth €25 million. This will be in addition to the previously promised assistance from the Estonian defence industry worth EUR 100 million,’ added Michal.
According to The Gaze, earlier the foreign ministers of the North Baltic Eight (NB8) countries agreed on a €44 million package of financial assistance to Ukraine, which will be used to purchase generators and solar panels.
In addition, on the third anniversary of the full-scale war, Denmark announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth almost €270 million, including a contribution to the training of a brigade.
And Sweden has announced plans to provide Ukraine with air defence systems worth SEK 1.2 billion (about $113 million).
