Olaf Scholz: Germany Will Continue to Support Ukraine

German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz has assured that Germany will continue to support Ukraine, in particular through a €50 billion loan from the Group of Seven.
He posted a comment on this on his X (Twitter) page.
Olaf Scholz said that Germany ‘has been and remains’ the country that provides the most assistance to Ukraine among European countries.
‘And we are continuing our support: with a €50 billion loan that we are launching together with the G7. This will allow Ukraine to buy weapons on a large scale. It can build on this,’ the chancellor wrote.
Earlier, some German media outlets reported that the current budget planning of the German federal government does not provide for additional funds to support Ukraine and that additional requests from the German Ministry of Defence for military assistance to Ukraine will no longer be approved at the request of the Chancellor.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these reports were incorrect and manipulative.
The German government denied any intention to cut military aid to Ukraine. According to a government spokesperson, the German government expects that next year international partners will provide Ukraine with a loan totalling $50 billion, which will be repaid with interest from frozen Russian assets.
