The Government of the Republic of Poland has donated a vehicle to the Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War. This vehicle will be used for expeditions, transporting artefacts for international exhibitions, and other operational activities of the museum, according to Ukrinform.

"On the occasion of International Museum Day, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, on behalf of the Polish people, presents the Ukrainian World War II Museum with an IVECO EUROCARGO vehicle. This gift recognises the museum's efforts to document and highlight the realities of the Russo-Ukrainian war on an international level," stated the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

The handover ceremony was attended by Jarosław Guzy, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine, and Rostyslav Karandeev, the Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

"From the first days of the war, Ukrainians and Poles have stood together. Poland extended a helping hand to our country, providing humanitarian, financial, and military support. We felt that we are truly brothers and members of one European family. This good cooperation and relationship continue. Today's act of handing over important equipment to support the museum's work is a clear sign of such support and solidarity. We thank the people of Poland for their support and solidarity with Ukraine," stated Rostyslav Karandeev during the handover ceremony.

In other news, The Gaze reported that on 17 May, a building used as a church by a religious community of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine was demolished in the buffer zone of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Kyiv: Saint Sophia Cathedral and Related Monastic Buildings, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" in the capital of Ukraine, following a court decision.

The structure was erected in 2012 on the grounds of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, adjacent to the foundation of the ancient Church of the Tithes, the first stone church of Kyivan Rus. The construction violated legal norms, lacked archaeological research, and did not have permits from the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. Furthermore, the building was never officially approved for use according to established standards.
