Poland intends to significantly increase the size of its armed forces by practically doubling its military personnel. Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski made this announcement during his visit to the city of Kodz in the Lublin Voivodeship, near the border with Belarus. As reported by Polskie Radio, Poland's army, which previously consisted of three divisions, will now expand to include six divisions, with the possibility of adding one more in the future.

"One of the main tasks, perhaps even the main task of the state, is to ensure security in all dimensions," stated Kaczynski.

The Vice-Prime Minister added that the government is also strengthening the border by erecting fences and deploying various types of electronic devices to enhance border security, primarily to counter attacks involving illegal migrants, which he firmly believes have been organized and facilitated by Lukashenko with support from Putin.

Kaczynski emphasized that this ongoing threat, albeit in a milder form at present, requires constant vigilance, as it may intensify and take on a different nature, potentially involving the presence of Wagner Group mercenaries.

"We want to make it clear that we are doing everything necessary and sufficient to easily repel any provocations or aggressive actions, even more dangerous than before," highlighted Kaczynski.

Additionally, after an 18-year hiatus, the Polish Armed Forces will establish a reactive artillery unit. Polish Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, announced this during a ceremony to commemorate the decision to create the "HIMARS Academy" and the 1st Missile Brigade.

In 2005, Poland decommissioned its last squadron equipped with "Tochka" missiles, which had a range of 70 kilometers. Now, the Polish Army will have access to the HIMARS missile system, capable of striking targets up to 300 kilometers away, making it an effective means of deterring aggressors, including potential Russian invasions.

It was also announced that the first HIMARS units will arrive in Poland, and in the future, a specialized "HIMARS Academy" will be established in Torun to train soldiers in operating launcher systems and provide maintenance and technical support for the equipment.

Moreover, Germany plans to establish the best-equipped military division among European NATO allies by 2025. Currently, the Bundeswehr does not have operational units with more than 20,000 military personnel. However, ambitious plans include creating the first of three such divisions by 2025 and the second one by 2027.
