Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski Arrives in Kyiv for High-Level Talks

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and his wife Anne Applebaum arrived in Kyiv on Friday for a working visit amid growing security concerns in the region.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a post by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
The Polish Foreign Ministry confirmed Sikorski’s arrival in a statement on social media, noting that the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister had begun his official program in Ukraine.
At Kyiv’s central railway station, Sikorski was welcomed by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, who was joined by American journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Anne Applebaum.
Sybiha wrote on X that the two countries “stand firmly together against Russia’s terror against Ukraine and provocations against Poland.”
He added that their talks will focus on regional security, Ukraine’s aspirations to join the EU and NATO, and increasing pressure on Moscow.
Sybiha also thanked Warsaw for what he described as Poland’s leadership role and consistent support.
The visit comes just days after a dramatic incident on the night of September 10, when Russian drones violated Polish airspace.
The Polish military conducted an operation to neutralize the threat, shooting down several targets over its territory for the first time since the war began. Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte of the developments and stressed that Poland would not introduce additional restrictions in response.
According to Tusk, Polish forces intercepted about four of the 19 drones that crossed into the country.
One drone damaged the roof of a house and a car in the village of Wyrzyki-Wola in Lublin Voivodeship, while debris from others was discovered across several localities.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania issued a joint declaration condemning Russia’s overnight drone attack that breached Polish airspace on September 10, calling it a deliberate escalation and an unprecedented provocation.
