Poll: 62% of Americans Approve Sanctions on Russia Allies

Most Americans approve of imposing sanctions on Russia's trading partners as a means of pressuring Moscow to end the war in Ukraine, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Reuters.
The latest poll shows that 62% of Americans support imposing sanctions on Russia's trading partners as a way to exert pressure on the aggressor.
In recent weeks, Trump has been actively engaged in diplomacy, meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, but has so far failed to deliver on his promise to end the conflict on his first day in office.
Nevertheless, this strategy is partly supported by US President Donald Trump. He has already imposed secondary sanctions in the form of a 25% tariff against India for purchasing Russian oil, which is a key source of funding for the Kremlin's war against Ukraine.
In addition, the US President has threatened China, Turkey, the UAE, and other countries that trade with Russia with high tariffs in order to increase pressure on Moscow and force it to agree to a ceasefire.
In a Reuters/Ipsos poll, about 76% of Republicans who support Trump said they were in favor of sanctions against Russia's trading partners to stop the war, while among Democrats, such support was 58%.
As The Gaze informed earlier, according to the Chicago Council on Global Affairs-Ipsos opinion survey, the majority of Americans consider Russian President to be the main culprit behind the war in Ukraine and believe that Donald Trump is more sympathetic to Moscow than to Kyiv.
