Ukraine Gets Black Hawk Helicopter as Czech Public Raises $3 Million

In a landmark moment of grassroots support for Kyiv’s defense, a Czech volunteer initiative has delivered a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter to Ukraine.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a post by the group Darek pro Putina (“Gift for Putin”), which confirmed the delivery and shared images of the helicopter already on Ukrainian soil.
The campaign raised over $3 million earlier this year to secure the helicopter. Organizers expressed gratitude to the more than 20,000 donors from the Czech Republic and Slovakia whose contributions made the purchase possible.
“With this, the Czech Republic has become the first country in the world where citizens collectively gifted a helicopter to Ukraine. Slovaks also joined in. It has been an honor for us,” the volunteers said.
The campaign began in December 2024, when Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) confirmed that Czech volunteers were collecting funds to provide a Black Hawk specifically for intelligence units.
Ukrainian intelligence has already been operating several such helicopters, employing them in combat missions against Russian forces.
The UH-60 Black Hawk, a medium-lift multi-role helicopter widely used by the U.S. and allied militaries, is known for its reliability and versatility.
It can be deployed for troop transport, medical evacuation, command and control, special operations, and humanitarian missions.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine is set to receive around 1.8 million artillery rounds by the end of 2025 through the Czech Republic’s international ammunition procurement initiative.
