Romania and Ukraine Launch Talks on Joint Drone Production

The Romanian Ministry of Defense begins negotiations with Ukraine on the joint production of drones, which may be supplied to other European countries in the future.
The Gaze reports on it referring to Digi24.
It is reported that Romania is supposed to pay for the parts of the drones developed by Ukrainians as a result of the military experience gained in recent years.
The next step would be to invest in a factory in Romania, most likely in Brasov, where Romanians and Ukrainians would jointly produce drones. According to the plan, most of the aircraft are to go to the Romanian army, but the option of selling some to other European countries is not excluded.
The report says that the Romanian Minister of National Defense is expected to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart to discuss the deal.
Nevertheless, it is assumed that additional and practical steps will be taken in 2026, when the new army budget is approved.
