Romania Promises 'Reliable Security Guarantees' for Ukraine

After a virtual meeting of the leaders of the ‘coalition of the willing,’ Romanian President Nicușor Dan stated that his country would help provide Ukraine with reliable security guarantees in the event of an end to Russian aggression.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to his Facebook post.
Dăncilă stressed that coordination between Europe and the United States is important for achieving peace in Ukraine in order to deter Russian aggression.
‘Russia must stop killing civilians if it truly wants peace. Sanctions must be maintained and, if necessary, even strengthened until a peace agreement is reached,’ he said.
The Romanian president separately emphasised that Bucharest ‘will contribute to providing reliable security guarantees to Ukraine, which will be implemented in close cooperation between Europe and the United States — this is an investment in the security of Europe, not just Ukraine.’
He noted that a peaceful and secure Ukraine strengthens Romania's security and benefits Moldova.
As is known, the leaders of the ‘coalition of the willing’ agreed at a meeting on Tuesday to hold talks with the United States in the near future on ‘reliable security guarantees’ for Ukraine.
The media reported that US President Donald Trump and European leaders agreed that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio would head a working group of national security advisers and NATO representatives to develop a draft security guarantee for Ukraine.
The media also reported that American and European officials will immediately begin working on providing Ukraine with reliable security guarantees in order to pave the way for a landmark meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
