Romanian President to Visit Ukraine This Autumn Following Talks With Zelenskyy

Romanian President Nicușor Dan will travel to Ukraine later this autumn after accepting an invitation from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a phone call on August 12.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Dan’s post on social media platform X.
Announcing the decision, Dan said he had shared with Zelenskyy his view that “a comprehensive and lasting peace in Ukraine is needed to stop Russia’s daily atrocities.”
He pledged that Romania, “as a neighbor and partner,” would continue to support Ukraine’s efforts to achieve a just peace.
“The security of Ukraine is closely linked to the security of the Black Sea and the security of Europe. I accepted President Zelenskyy’s invitation to visit Kyiv this autumn,” Dan stated.
Zelenskyy confirmed the planned visit on his official website, noting that Dan supports the joint accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European Union. He said the presidential teams are already working on the visit’s details.
The Ukrainian leader also thanked Dan and all EU leaders for their statement earlier that day reaffirming strong support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
“Right now, everything depends on President Trump’s determination and Europe’s unity. If Russia is not ready to stop the killings, there must be sanctions on its economy to force it to do so,” Zelenskyy said, commenting on the talks with the Romanian president.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on July 30, consultations were held on the creation of a cyber alliance between Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova to jointly counter cyber and hybrid threats, exchange information, develop AI solutions, and protect critical infrastructure.
