The Ministry of Justice of Romania will dispatch several dozen legal experts to Moldova to aid the country in reforms and EU accession. Additionally, Romania's Ministry of Justice will establish a new entity, a magistrate for Moldova relations, as reported by Deschide.

"In the near future, we will establish contacts to provide technical assistance in judicial reforms, crucial for EU accession. We are talking about the best experts we have for assistance. There will likely be a selection of 30 to 60 experts, depending on discussions," said Romanian Justice Minister Alina-Ștefania Gorgiu during a meeting with her Moldovan counterpart.

Alina-Ștefania Gorgiu also noted that the creation of a magistrate for Moldova relations is crucial in bilateral relations, given the close ties and numerous shared legal matters that the magistrate will help address.

"We have a large volume of legal assistance activities. Just last year, we managed about 250 cases, including extradition requests, judicial orders, criminal records, and more. There are numerous communications and requests for documents and evidence, which is why we are discussing this entity that will add further value to our relations," Alina-Ștefania Gorgiu emphasized.

According to Alina-Ștefania Gorgiu, Moldova's EU accession is crucial for regional security. She mentioned that Romania's government will continue to strongly support Moldova's European path both in words and actions.

On her part, Moldova's Justice Minister Veronika Mihailova-Moraru thanked the Romanian government for its support, highlighting that Romania has been and remains the strongest supporter of Moldova's EU accession.

Recall that The Gaze reported that on April 21, representatives of Moldova's pro-Russian opposition met in Moscow to announce the formation of a new anti-European political bloc aimed at derailing the country's EU accession process.

This bloc, named "Victory," is linked to fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor and aims to challenge Moldova's President Maia Sandu and her pro-European government in future elections.
