Baltic States Sign Declaration in Support of Moldova's European Integration
Presidents Alar Karis of Estonia, Edgars Rinkēvičs of Latvia and Gitanas Nausėda of Lithuania visited Chisinau on Moldova's Independence Day. They signed a Declaration of Support for Moldova's European Integration.

At a meeting with the Baltic heads of state, Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed that the presence of these leaders in Chisinau is proof of the constant and consistent support that their states provide to Moldova on its European path.
Recean an added that the Baltic States, which this year celebrate 20 years of membership in the European Union, are a source of inspiration for Moldova in terms of European integration and modernisation.
In the signed Declaration of Support for Moldova's European Integration, Alar Karis, Edgars Rinkēvičs and Gitanas Nausėda stressed that Chisinau has made significant progress in democratic reforms and strengthening the rule of law in recent years.
They also reaffirmed that their countries will continue to assist Moldova in its European integration and reforms, and in strengthening its resilience to hybrid threats and disinformation.
‘We believe that a united, democratic and successful Moldova is in the interests not only of its citizens, but also of the entire European continent. We fully support the future accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union,’ the declaration reads.
The leaders of the three Baltic States also called on Moldovan citizens to take an active part in the referendum this autumn to make the European path irreversible.
On 25 June, Moldova, together with Ukraine, officially launched negotiations on accession to the European Union.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu believes in Moldova's membership in the EU by 2030.
