Romanian Ship Under Fire from Russia During Attack on Ukrainian Port of Reni

As a result of Russia's shelling of the Ukrainian port of Reni on the Danube river on Sunday night, a Romanian ship suffered minor damages, as reported by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The information was confirmed on Tuesday, according to the Romanian news portal HotNews.ro.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania stated that it conducted an investigation into the incident involving the Romanian ship at the port of Reni through representatives of its consulate general temporarily operating in the Ministry's office in Odesa.
According to preliminary information received from Ukrainian authorities through representatives of the Romanian consulate, the ship sustained minor damages and continued its voyage.
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported that no Romanian citizens were injured as a result of the attacks on Ukrainian ports along the Danube.
It is worth noting that on the night of July 24, Russian forces launched another strike on the Odesa region. According to Ukrainian military sources, the attack targeted the port infrastructure on the Danube. The strikes resulted in the destruction of a grain warehouse and damage to reservoirs storing other cargoes, with a fire breaking out in one of the production facilities.
"Last night, Russian forces continued to terrorize the Odesa region, conducting an almost four-hour-long shelling with kamikaze drones 'Shahed-136' on the port infrastructure along the Danube," reported the Ukrainian Operational Command South.
Oleh Kiper, the head of the military administration of the Odesa region, informed about the casualties from the attack, including six port employees, four of whom were hospitalized with injuries.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis called these recent attacks by Russia a serious threat to the security of the Black Sea.
As a reminder, global wheat prices rose by approximately 9% after Russia exited the grain agreement and threatened to attack civilian vessels heading to or departing from Ukrainian ports.
Immediately after announcing its withdrawal from the agreement, Russia resumed targeted missile strikes on Ukrainian ports and elevators, attempting to destroy Ukraine's infrastructure for grain storage and transportation, as well as its accumulated harvest.
