Russia’s Overnight Missile and Drone Strike on Kyiv Kills Six, Including Child

Russia launched a deadly combined drone and missile attack on Kyiv overnight, killing six people and injuring at least 52 others, according to Ukrainian officials. Among the victims was a six-year-old boy and his mother, The Gaze reports.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported damage across more than 27 locations in the capital, with the most severe destruction in the Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts. One residential building suffered a partial collapse. At least 29 of the injured have been hospitalized, including nine children.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack as another sign of Russia’s disregard for peace efforts, noting that over 300 drones and eight missiles were fired not only at Kyiv but also across multiple regions, including Dnipro, Poltava, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv Oblast.
“This is how Russia responds to our efforts with the U.S. and Europe to achieve peace — with new killings. That is why peace without strength is impossible,” Zelenskyy said, urging Ukraine’s partners to ensure that every defense commitment is fulfilled.
