Russian Night Strike on Kyiv Injures Eight, Including Child

A Russian overnight drone assault on Kyiv wounded eight civilians, including a three-year-old child.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Reuters, citing Ukrainian officials.
The attack struck a multi-storey apartment building in the capital’s Darnytskyi district, damaging windows and balconies from the 6th to the 11th floors.
Four people, one of them in critical condition, were taken to hospital, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration.
“Emergency teams are working on site, and the building has sustained serious blast damage,” Tkachenko wrote on social media.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said all the victims were residents of the building.
The attack came shortly after midnight, triggering several hours of air raid alerts across Kyiv and other regions. Loud explosions were reported as air defense systems attempted to repel the strikes.
The city of Kropyvnytskyi, in central Ukraine, was also targeted, regional governor Andriy Raikovych said. Emergency services are assessing the damage and casualties there.
Poland, a NATO member state bordering western Ukraine, scrambled military aircraft to ensure its airspace security amid warnings of possible missile threats.
On the night of July 28, Ukrainian air defenses intercepted or suppressed 311 enemy aerial targets, including 309 Shahed-type attack drones and 2 Kh-101 cruise missiles, while none of the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles reached their targets.
