Scene, when Baldwin Accidentally Shot Halyna Hutchins During Rehearsal, was Cut From 'Rust'

The infamous film Rust starring Alec Baldwin, which is now known mainly for the tragedy on the set when the actor fatally shot Ukrainian-born cameraman Halyna Hutchins on set in 2021, was still filmed. But the scene during which the unintentional murder took place was cut from the final version of the film.
This was reported by People.
The final version of the film does not contain this scene - the script was rewritten after filming resumed, its own sources told the publication.
‘They cut out the scene in the church that they were rehearsing and rewrote it a little bit. It's a beautiful film. It looks like a big studio film,’ the sources said.
As a reminder, on one of the filming days in October 2021, a prop gun with live ammunition held by Alec Baldwin from the film's gunsmith went off, hitting director Joel Souza and Halyna Hutchins. The cameraman did not survive the injury.
When the fatal shooting took place, the cameras were not working as the crew was setting up a camera lock for a scene inside the church while Baldwin was practising with a revolver. The actor had previously said that he did not pull the trigger and was unaware of the live bullets inside the revolver.
The criminal case of involuntary manslaughter against 66-year-old Alec Baldwin was abruptly closed by a judge, allegedly due to the prosecutor's concealment of evidence.
However, civil lawsuits are still pending, including those brought by Hutchins' parents and sister.
The film's gunman, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to prison. Although her lawyer said they would file a petition for release after the unexpected outcome of Baldwin's trial.
The tragically deceased Halyna Hutchins is survived by her husband Matthew and their son Andros, who is now 11 years old.
Rust returned to production in the spring of 2023, with Hutchins' widower Matthew becoming an executive producer after reaching a settlement with the filmmakers.
