Slovak carriers have ceased the blockade at the "Vysne Nemecke - Uzhhorod" border crossing between Slovakia and Ukraine, allowing the resumption of full-scale freight transport between the two countries. This information was provided by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

According to the information received on the evening of December 14th by Ukrainian border guards, representatives of Slovak carriers have unblocked the movement of freight vehicles entering Slovakia before the checkpoint "Vysne-Nemecke" for an indefinite period.

Ukrainian border guards noted that since the lifting of the blockade, as of the morning of December 15th, almost 60 trucks have exited Ukraine through the Uzhhorod checkpoint. Additionally, 1,065 trucks are currently in the electronic queue for departure from Ukraine.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine also reported that at the unblocked "Yagodyn – Dorohusk" border crossing with Poland, the number of vehicles crossing the border has returned to pre-blockade levels. Border guards clarified that the flow of goods through this crossing increases each day, with over 1,200 trucks crossing in both directions on December 14th, the majority coming from Poland to Ukraine.

Recall that at this border crossing, the head of the Polish commune of Dorohusk, Wojciech Sawa, decided to disperse the protest of carriers. They had applied for a new protest but were denied.

Previously, The Gaze reported that Ukraine started transporting trucks through the blocked railway border with Poland. Railway transportation of trucks was organized in response to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border by Polish carriers, which began on November 6th. Blockade participants demanded the restoration of permits for Ukrainian carriers, canceled by the agreement with the European Union until June 30, 2024.

In a statement from the Ukrainian state railway operator "Ukrzaliznytsia," it is highlighted that one of the first columns of trucks traveling to Poland by rail successfully reached its destination. During this process, both sides agreed on all aspects of transportation and resolved all border formalities. After arrival, the trucks will continue their journey to the destination using regular roads.
