Spain National Football Team Becomes Second Participant of EURO 2024 After Germany
In the second round of the UEFA EURO 2024 Championship, Spain beat Italy 1-0 to secure first place in Group B of UEFA EURO 2024. Spain and Italy came into the match as group leaders. Earlier, the Spaniards had defeated the Croats 3-0, while the Italians had beaten the Albanians 2:1.
Throughout the first half, the Spanish national team created sharp chances. In total, the Spaniards made four shots on goal, while the reigning champions never hit the target.
After the break, the situation on the field did not change, and in the 55th minute Spain took the lead: forward Alvaro Morata tried to close the shot from the flank. However, in the end, the ball flew into the net from Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori. Despite the goal, Spain continued to attack the Italian goal. In the 70th minute, forward Nico Williams hit the crossbar, missing an opportunity to double the Spanish lead.
Spain failed to increase its advantage, but the 1-0 victory was enough not only to advance from the group, but also to win the quartet.
