'No Regrets': England Football Fan Gets 'England Euro 2024 Winners' Tattoo Before Final
A confident English football fan got a tattoo of the European Football Championship trophy on his leg with the words ‘England are the winners of Euro 2024’ three days before England's match against Spain in the Euro final, where England lost 2-1.
But despite his team's loss, he says he has no regrets and will not hide the tattoo.
Dan Thomas, 29, from Wiltshire, believes that the Three Lions will win the coveted Euro title in 2028, hosted by Great Britain and Ireland, and then he might change the year in his tattoo.
Dan says he really likes the tattoo and encouraged other England fans to get one to show their support for the team before the next tournament.
‘We came close, I don't regret getting the tattoo,’ says Dan. - ‘Anyway, I don't think it will be difficult to change the four to eight in four years. I'm not going to hide it. I have absolutely no regrets.’
More than 42,000 people watched him go under the needle at Reign Barbers and Tattoos in Swindon on Thursday. The process lasted two and a half hours.
Dan was convinced that England would win and wanted to get his tattoo ‘before the queues started’.
The tattoo artist said he ‘couldn't believe’ that Mr Thomas wanted this tattoo and asked him three times before he started.
‘It's only fair that he's so confident in the team,’ he added.
As a reminder, the England national team suffered its second consecutive defeat in the finals of the European Football Championship - at the last Euro they lost to Italy.
