The Beatles 2.0: McCartney and Lennon's Sons Release Collaborative Song
The sons of The Beatles, James McCartney and Sean Ono Lennon, have teamed up and recorded their first joint song. It is called Primrose Hill. Now everyone can compete for the right to make a video for this song, Variety writes.
James McCartney, the son of Paul and the late Linda McCartney, participated in the creation of solo music by both of his parents, and also released several of his own records.
Sean Ono Lennon has released several solo albums and performed with bands such as Cibo Matto, his own Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger and Lennon Claypool Delirium with Primus bassist Les Claypool.
In addition, in 2024, the film War Is Over, inspired by John Lennon and Yoko Ono's peace anthem Happy Xmas (War Is Over), won an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film. One of the scriptwriters was Sean Lennon himself.
"When I was a child in Scotland, one summer day, when I let go of everything, I saw my love and saviour in my inner vision. Primrose Hill is a song about starting over with me and finding that person," said James McCartney.
His father, Paul McCartney, also took to social media to promote his son's song: "My son James has a new song out called Primrose Hill - check it out! And lots of love to Sean Ono Lennon, who co-wrote the song".
James McCartney has also announced a competition for the winners of which will be able to shoot a video for this new song.
According to the announcement, the video submitted for the contest should "capture the essence of love and romance, showing the beauty of the couple's favourite romantic place. The couple should enjoy each other's company, engage in active activities and listen to the Primrose Hill song."
Videos will be accepted until 19 April.
As The Gaze previously reported, the legendary Kiss sold the rights to their music and brand for over $300 million to the company of a former ABBA member. In fact, this sale means the end of the band's live performances during the End of the Road world tour. Pophouse will own not only the rights to the music, but also the entire Kiss brand, including intellectual property. This will allow the Swedish firm to create future content using AI.
